News in brief

The Spring term featured two concerts and the final of the Rickmansworth Young Musician of the Year competition.
Both concerts were well attended and pushed the orchestra to new heights with some challenging repertoire, including Mussorgsky’s ‘Pictures from an Exhibition’ and Brahms Symphony No.1. Our 2024 RYMY, Jammal Kashim, played the Glière Harp Concerto with technical excellence and musical brilliance. More recently our pianist friend, Thomas Kelly, has made his solo debut at the prestigious Wigmore Hall as well as giving a private performance for friends of Chorleywood Music at Fiona and Andrew’s at Meadowsteep.
We are looking forward to our Summer Concert which will stretch the orchestra once again with Beethoven’s Eroica Symphony No. 3 and featuring Nicola Tait Baxter performing Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations.
